ZeitGeist

Currently I'm drawn to the crown jewel of natural design — the skull. Getting lost in the curving sweeps of bone and following the shadows into multi-faceted passages and along planes pitted with age is time-collapsing — the final remnant of a life's journey right there. We each get one of these things and run our whole life operation from a bone cage. Drawing with graphite on vellum is so sensuous, and it adds to the sense of fragility in the frame and the translucence allows subtle shadows to be more effective.
