Gloria Simmonds is a South American Folk artist living in Mendocino county for many years. Gloria has been hand weaving her tapestries and hand dying her fibers since she was 14 years old. Her work has been shown in galleries here and South America .
I am a mixed media fiber artist drawing my inspiration from folk art traditions. Coming from South America, my work gives voice to the stories, mythology, and legends of that heritage.
At the heart of my practice is a simple message: everything is alive, and we exist across different dimensions. My tapestries are, above all, visions — woven expressions of a world alive with meaning beyond what we see.
